Use Superside MCP with your AI tool

Learn how to set up the Superside MCP so your AI tool can check project status, review briefs, retrieve final files and see what tasks need you.

The Superside MCP is in beta. Some steps or details in this article might change as we keep improving it. If you're interested in using the Superside MCP, reach out to your Account Manager.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that connects AI tools to other applications.

This article explains how to connect the Superside MCP to your AI tool and how you can use it—for example, to manage your Superside projects, submit briefs, review pending tasks and messages, and check your subscription and usage. See examples of what you can do in the section below.

Connect the Superside MCP to your AI tool

You can connect the Superside MCP to any AI tool that supports OAuth-based MCP connections, since it uses OAuth to log you in and give you access to Superspace. This works with all major AI tools, including Claude and ChatGPT.

Before you connect, make sure you have:

  • An account with an AI tool that supports OAuth-based MCP.

  • If you're on an organization account (like a Team, Business or Enterprise plan), a role that lets you add custom connectors, apps or MCPs for your org.
If you're on a personal account, you don't need a special role, and you can add the MCP yourself.

On an organization account, an admin or owner needs to add the Superside MCP as a connector (or "app," depending on your AI tool) before anyone else in the organization can use it. Once it's set up, everyone else on the account can select it from their AI tool's settings, usually under connectors, apps or plugins.

On a personal account, there's no admin step. You can add the Superside MCP yourself, directly from your own account settings—usually under “Connectors” or “Custom connectors”.

If you’re not an owner of your AI organization account, you may need to ask one to connect the MCP for you.

The exact steps for adding a custom connector or MCP vary by AI tool. If you can't find the setting, review your AI tool's documentation for how to add a custom connector or app. Check the documentation for some common AI tools:
