When you create a new report, a short modal walks you through picking the right format for what you're trying to do.
Open the Create report modal
You can start a new report from three places, and they all open the same Create report modal:
Create: Select Create at the top of the left sidebar. It's always visible.
Board-level +: Hover over any board name in the sidebar, then select the + icon that appears next to it to add a report straight to that board.
However you get there, you'll see the same question: "What would you like to do?" Pick the report type that matches your goal.
Choose a report type
Report type | What it opens |
Discover top performers | Our standard report, already loaded with your last ad account and an Ad name grouping. |
Compare custom groups | A standard report with the custom breakdown panel already open, so you can start defining groups right away. |
Creative categorization | A different report format that sorts your ads into categories—like New, Scaled, Winners or Losers—based on rules you can customize. |
Discover top performers
This is the most common report format, and a great starting point for most use cases. It opens pre-configured with a default account and grouping, so you're looking at real data right away.
What you get
One ad account pre-selected (you can change this anytime from the account selector).
A default group-by already applied—for Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn, that's Ad name / Creative.
Gallery view by default, so you can browse your ads visually with scores and metrics.
Full access to all breakdowns: standard, custom and AI tagging.
You can edit the account, date range, grouping and metrics anytime after the report opens. For a full walkthrough of the report controls, see Navigate the Superads report interface.
Good for
Finding your top-performing ads by ROAS, CTR, conversion score or any other metric.
Analyzing creative performance by hook type, format, content creator or any other breakdown.
General-purpose reporting and ad performance reviews.
Not sure which report type to pick? Start here—you can always add breakdowns or switch views once the report's open.
Compare custom groups
This opens the same standard report as Discover top performers, but with the custom breakdown panel already expanded and ready for your input.
You can create and save custom groups manually, or use suggestions from our AI.
Good for
Comparing performance by a creative attribute in your naming convention, like hook type, market or content creator.
Once you've defined your groups, the report behaves just like any other standard report—you can change the date range, add breakdowns, adjust metrics and share it.
Creative categorization
Creative categorization sorts all your ads into categories automatically, based on rules. Handy when you're analyzing batches of ads. Say you want to see the "funnel" stages of your new ads: which ones are winning and which ones aren't. This report type is built for exactly that.
Default categories
The report comes with four categories pre-configured, each with a default rule you can customize:
Category | Default rule | What it means |
New | Launched within the last 14 days | All your recently live ads |
Scaled | Amount spent exceeds your defined threshold | Ads with significant spend behind them |
Winners | ROAS above threshold and spend above threshold | High-performing ads that have proven themselves at scale |
Losers | Conversion score below threshold | Underperforming ads |
Customizing the rules
Every threshold and condition is fully customizable. For example, you might define "Scaled" as spend over $1,000, or "Winners" as ROAS over 3.0. To edit a rule, select Edit.
Good for
Daily or weekly creative reviews. Instantly see what's new, what's working and what to pause.
Teams who want a simple, opinionated view without setting up complex filters.
Scaling decisions. The Winners tab surfaces ads ready for more budget.
Pruning decisions. The Losers tab surfaces ads to pause or iterate on.
What happens after you create a report
Reports don't save automatically. Select Save at the upper-right corner to keep your changes.
Once your report is created, it's immediately editable and saved to your board. You can:
Rename it by selecting the report title.
Change the account, date range, filters or groupings anytime.
Share it via a link.
Add it to a board or rearrange it alongside your other reports.
