Connecting Meta is the first step to getting your campaign and creative data into Superads. It only takes a few seconds. This article walks through the process and the fixes for the errors you're most likely to hit.
What you need before connecting
Before you start, make sure you have:
A personal Facebook account with access to the ad account(s) you want to connect
At least advertiser or admin role on the ad account in Meta Business Manager (analyst access isn't enough)
Superads connects to Meta through your personal Facebook profile, so your profile needs the correct role on the ad account in Business Manager. If someone else set up the account and added you later, confirm your role in Meta Business Settings > Ad Accounts > [account name] > People.
Connect your account
In your Superads account, select your account at the bottom of the sidebar. This expands the menu.
Go to Settings > Data sources.
Under the Meta section, select Add account.
Log in with Facebook when prompted. A Meta authorization pop-up appears. Log in with the Facebook account that has access to the ad accounts you want to connect.
Select the ad accounts to connect. You'll see every ad account your Facebook profile has access to. Choose the ones you want to add to Superads. You can connect several at once.
Select Connect.
Note: If the button isn't visible, scroll down in the modal or zoom out your browser: Cmd+- (on macOS) or Ctrl+- (on Windows)Wait for the initial sync. Your data starts appearing within about 30 minutes. Full history can take up to 24 hours, depending on the account size.
Connect every account you need in step 4. You can always add more later, but selecting several accounts in one session is faster.
Connect multiple Meta ad accounts
If you manage multiple Meta ad accounts, for example as an agency, you can connect all of them in one session: select each one in step 4 of the connection flow. They'll all sync under the same workspace.
If your clients' ad accounts sit under different Business Managers that your Facebook profile can't access, ask each client to grant your profile access in their Business Manager before connecting.
Every connected ad account counts toward your total monthly spend for billing. See the Superads pricing article for how tiers work.
What permissions does Superads request?
When you authorize Superads in the Meta pop-up, you're granting read-only access to your ad data. Superads uses every permission solely to read campaign and performance data. It never creates, edits or pauses your ads.
You can revoke Superads access anytime in your Facebook account, under Settings > Business Integrations.
Common errors and how to fix them
Symptom | What to do |
Error message when connecting | Check that your Facebook profile has at least advertiser or admin access on the ad account in Meta Business Settings. Analyst access isn't enough. Fix it, then try connecting again. |
Ad account doesn't appear in the list | Usually means the account is under a different Facebook profile, or your profile doesn't have access yet. Ask your Meta admin to add your profile to the ad account in Business Manager, then retry. |
"Already connected" but no data appears | The connection likely didn't finish. Disconnect and reconnect. During that flow, scroll down in the modal to find and select Connect. It can be hidden on smaller screens. |
Only some ad accounts synced | You may not have selected every account during setup, or your profile's access was limited on some. Go to Settings > Data sources and add the missing accounts by selecting Add data source again. |
Connection worked but sync is stuck | Try a manual resync: Go to Settings > Data sources > the three-dot menu next to the account > Resync. If the error persists after 24 hours, contact support with your workspace name. |
Reconnect after a broken or expired connection
Meta connections can break in a couple of situations:
You changed your Facebook password. That invalidates all connected apps, including Superads, and every Meta ad account in your workspace stops syncing.
Your Facebook session expired. Meta access tokens expire periodically, and Superads shows an error on the affected account in Settings > Data sources.
To reconnect:
Go to Settings > Data sources.
Find the account showing an error or warning.
Select the reconnect button next to it. This reopens the Meta authorization flow.
Log in with Facebook and reauthorize, using the same profile that originally set up the connection.
